Yes, the Market is Slow; but no the market is not Dead. The following article was written by my broker, Ben Torrey, this week and forwarded to all our clients and I thought it would be a useful document to post here as a sort of historical footnote. As a sort of footnote to Ben’s note let me say that call volume, internet traffic and actual “clients in the car” are all up over the last few weeks.

Greetings and a Warm Welcome to my new North Georgia blog site. I’ll be discussing Bent Tree real estate news as well as lifestyle news for the North Georgia Mountains.

This has been on my “to do” list for a very long time and I am pleased to finally be putting it into place. I will do my very best to keep everyone up to date on the activities in Bent Tree and to a lesser degree throughout Pickens County and in other gated communities in North Georgia.

For those of you that are not familiar with Bent Tree, it is located about 50 miles North of Atlanta in Pickens County and just about 5 miles outside Jasper, which is Georgia’s “First Mountain City.” The community covers some 3500 acres and sits just below Mount Oglethorpe. There are currently just over 1100 homes and building has continued at a relatively stable rate of about 35 homes per year since the 1970’s.
