Don Martin, North Georgia Real Estate Specialist
Since the spring of 2006, I have been a sales associate with Torrey Mountain Properties, Inc. in Jasper, GA. In December of 2008, I became the Associate Broker of our very small brokerage specializing in providing quality, personal service to our clients. I am a full time Realtor ® with memberships in both the Pickens County Board of Realtors and the North East Georgia Board. This dual membership and access to 2 Multiple Listing Services allows me to provide exceptional support to my clients. I am the President of the Pickens County Board of Realtors for 2011.
I returned to Georgia in 1994 for my third and final assignment here in an on again-off again Army career that spanned 27 years. My career in the military prepared me in more one ways than one to become a top Realtor. One of the unintended consequences was moving between 10 states and 3 foreign countries – I am well acquainted with the challenges of moving and the financial perils of relocation.
My wife, Regina, and I live in Bent Tree (and we have lived in 5 homes there!). Regina is the happily retired, former Chairperson of the Science Department at Dawson County High School. Regina is from Mississippi and I am originally from Tennessee and we are both very happy to have adopted Georgia and to be living the “Good Life” in the North Georgia Mountains.
Regina and I attend the New Lebanon Presbyterian Church where we are both Elders and Regina served for many years as the Choir Director. I currently serve on the Board of Directors for the Pickens County Chamber of Commerce and Chair the Business Council, which oversees the Small Business of the Year, Business Expo, Entrepreneur Friendly Steering Committee and the Shop Pickens First programs. I am also a member and President Elect of the Rotary Club of Jasper. I am a strong supporter of the Arts in Pickens County and have served on the Boards of the Tater Patch Players, Inc. and Jasper Muse, Inc., both 501c3 non-profit organizations.
