Casual Classics Presents the Riverside Chamber Players

Mark your calendars and schedule an early dinner.  The Riverside Chamber Players return to Jasper on Monday March 7, 2011.   This Concert is free and open to the public.  The Casual Classics Concerts are a program of Jasper Muse, Inc.  Jasper Muse is local non-profit supporting the arts in Pickens County and North Georgia. Here is the official news release from Concert Master Suzanne Shull:

We are delighted to bring back the Riverside Chamber Players on March 7th  at 7 pm at the New Lebanon Presbyterian Church. This year you will see new faces as the group offers a wider variety of repertoire. We are honored to be presenting a brand new piece by an up-and-coming Atlanta composer, Michael Kurth. Riverside is premiering Michael’s latest work for string quintet and percussion, “Opting Out of Irony.” His music is accessible and I hope to add our audience to his growing fan base. The other work on the program is Shostakovich’s #8 quartet. We haven’t heard Shostakovich in Pickens County since the Riverside Concert in 2007!

Vice President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta Speaks to Pickens Chamber of Commerce

Friday, November 12th, 2010

Tuesday’s Pickens County Chamber Breakfast was no ordinary event. The crowd of well over 100 local business owners and professionals was treated to an update on the nation’s financial situation by Tom Cunningham.  Dr. Cunningham is the Vice President and Director of Research for the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and is also currently the Director of the Center for Real Estate Analytics.    Dr. Cunningham’s presentation was informative, insightful, and well received. Tom has been with the Federal Reserve system since 1985 and I have been fortunate to hear several of his presentations over the years.  For more information on Dr. Cunningham  you can visit the Federal Reserves website: Tom Cunningham .

The presentation was recorded by KnowPickens.com and you can have your own private economic lesson by following this link:  Tom Cunningham, Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.

And yes, that is yours truly with the brief introduction.
